This is a hands on review of the Nikon D5100. I got the chance to spend an hour with the New Nikon D5100 and take sample images and video. I feel this is a solid starter camera even more so than the D3100. I see this as either a starter camera or a flat out video only camera for someone looking to make movies. The Nikon D3100 has a yellowish tint in video. I tried correcting it using Adobe Premiere. In reality, the Gas cooker fire had a bluish-cyan tint.

Finally got to do a video using an auto focusing DSLR and the Tamron 18-270 PZD. Not as quiet as I'd like but much better than the kit lens and much faster auto focusing on this body than a 60D or any other DSLR without auto focusing video.
