This camera is a decent upgrade from D5100 but it is not going to replace Nikon D7000 simply because it doesn't have some of the advanced features Nikon D7000 has. It's a great entry level DSLR specially for those looking to do portraits as now you can take advantage of 39 focusing points. The 24 megapixel is great for landscape or macro photography. Stay tuned for my in depth review of Nikon D5200 as I will do a comparison video of Nikon D5200 vs D5100 vs D7000.
I think it's the same 3 deer that return to my backyard. Again, I'm shooting with my Nikon D3200 DSLR with a telephoto lens. Last time, they appeared about 3pm, this time, it was past 6:30pm and it was DARK. I had to increase my ISO to 3200 just to get anything resembling life on film. Color was amped up with Adobe After Effects CS5.5, giving it a fake nightvision look for better contrast. Because real night-vision actually picks up heat, so the colors would actually be white where there's the most heat and black where it is coolest, unlike mine where the deer blend into the background simply because it's a color capture, not heat capture. Anyway, this time, I attempted to approach the deer, but they run off. Lesson of the day, kids, DO NOT APPROACH DEER NEAR TRAFFIC, they might cause an accident if they run into the road.
If you want some amazing techniques and trick to becoming a better photographer and some cool trick photography check this site out. seanmathes.com I was looking for a new lens to use for photo shoots that would give me a better depth of field. I am also really into video as well so the the Nikon 50mm 1.8G was a great choice for me. I am currently shooting on a Nikon D40 but have a new D3200 on the way so this lens will work on both cameras. So far I am extremely impressed with this lens and for $250 it is a great value.
