Just got a new camera! Sorry for the grainy picture for most clips, but it was dark outside, and I was also shooting inside, so I had to raise the ISO
Not all member of The Society could make it that night or that weekend, but here is some thoughts that members had about the race as it kicked off.
this is a slide show of pictures taken from the nikon d3200...its 24mp on APS-C size scensor...dont worry about th mega pixils this camera takes great crisp and sharp images...the lens i used was just the kit lens the 18-55mm version 2 lens that, from what i have read, is one of nikons sharpest lenses. so you can use this lens only or go get another lens, does not really matter..but im working on some more slide shows so there will be more coming..im might also get the 50mm f1.8 g lens to do a review and unboxing..so enjoy and have a nice day!!!!

A417 road to Maisemore flooded again with surrounding fields never recovering from last months flood. This evening when I left at 4.30pm the depth gauge was reading flood level at 2 Feet. Road closed. Lighter in slow motion 60fps rendered at 24fps 0.4x Nikon D3200 video test The sparkles are from tiny pieces of flint burning a little bit late. I recorded a lighter being ignited at 60 frames per second with my Nikon D3200. I rendered the video at 24 frames per second, at 40% of the original speed. I used a 50mm f/1.4 Al lens at an aperture of f/1.4, ISO 200, and shutter speed 1/800 of a second. Recorded with the Nikon D3200 Edited in Adobe Premiere Elements 10.0 Enjoy -Derek

My concerns yesterday that the A417 road to Maisemore nr Gloucester could flood today proved right. I arrived this morning to see emergency services in place. Several vehicles were carefully making their way through water which was still rising after yet more rain over night. The River Severn was unable to contain any more water. I demonstrate the zoom and test the auto focus noise of the Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Lens. It is Nikon's most powerful zoom lens yet, with a 16.7x zoom range. VR Vibration Reduction Image Stabilization is turned on during this video. This lens is beautiful, amazing, heavy and big, but also quiet and smoother than it's predecessors.I have also noticed that the VR (vibration reduction) image stabilization on this lens works a bit better than the 18-200mm VR II lens and it no longer makes a click when it turns on and off, and it doesn't make a high pitched noise when it is on (the 18-200mm and the 18-55mm lens make a high pitched noise when the VR is on).
