I've looked everywhere online for a complete walk-through of the video settings, restrictions and limitations of the Nikon D7000 camera, but didn't find anything that told me everything I wanted to know. So I bought this camera, used it for multiple video projects, then put this little ditty together for you. The D7000 shoots full 1080p video at 24fps, has manual video controls and is a great option for people who want to use the Nikon system (including all those yummy manual Nikon lenses without having to use adapters). Cheaper than zoom lens in comparable picture quality Cons of Prime Lens 1. Fixed focal range. 2. You'll have to change the lens if you want to go from wide angle to telephoto 3. Some prime lenses may not have a built in motor for entry level dslr. Pros of Zoom lens (fixed aperture) 1. Ability to zoom in/out without changing lens. 2. You don't have to move around as much. 3. It's good for shooting events and hyper kids. Cons of Zoom lens (fixed aperture) 1. Very expensive comparable to prime lens quality 2. Heavy 3. Did I say it's very expensive? 4. Yes, it's very expensive lol. Pros of kit lens (variable aperture) 1. Very cheap 2. Not as heavy as fixed aperture zoom lens Cons of kit lens (variable aperture) 1. Compromise on quality, big time. 2. Terrible for low light. 3. Not as nicer bokeh as the prime or fixed aperture zoom lens
