Nikon D3200

A sound technician testing out the D3200's audio capabilities while recording video. Update. I now have found that these cameras need a mic level input with a +20db boost. This is why the radio mic works well, it has a variable output... and the rode mic does not.. The solution.. a rode videomic PRO which has a +20db option, using this will raise the input level 20db before entering the camera.. Another thought I have had, is that I think the camera has NO amps.. I'm pretty sure what we hear is a software "boost".. another reason to amplify outside of the camera!!
